For over 40 years, the Center for Technical Assistance for Excellence in Special Education (TAESE) has been the Technical Assistance division of the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice at Utah State University.

TAESE provides contractual services through a variety of projects and consortia in many states throughout the U.S. TAESE provides a variety of services such as event planning, training, and education-focused consultation.

The main focus and purpose for TAESE is to provide technical assistance in special education and to build the capacity of State Departments of Education, school districts, and charter schools to better serve infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities. Currently, TAESE has contracts in 38 States and the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs.
